Now that winter is officially here with snow on the ground, Patches’ feet get too cold; she has to wear these doggie booties. Looking at her, it’s a cross between adorable and ridiculous – Heather and I laugh pretty hard watching her walk like a camel with them on (hope that doesn’t leave an emotional scar). But the sad fact is if she doesn’t wear them, within minutes Patches’ will stop and hold her paws up in the air – soon afterwards she’ll just lay down in the snow as if to say, “Good-bye cruel world.”
To keep Patches’ will to survive up through the winter, we’ll be putting these on every time she goes out. She may not look it, but she’ll be much happier this way!

We just got Cici a sweater and she looks absolutely ridiculous. She has such a thin coat that she would shiver every time we took her out and couldn’t go for long walks (then using too much energy inside).
There’s always a trade off – Patches comes inside and runs around the dining room table for a while now. Dogs are funny and enjoyable creatures!
