Back from Hawaii again

This time around, it wasn’t for work; it was recovering from work.

Rest is an essential ingredient to productivity and I too often, simply forget how to do it.  My body might slow down, but my mind can still race with things that need to be done.  This trip reminded me to stop dividing my attention by trying to multi-task so much (although it took three days for me to get there); I’m much more productive doing one thing at a time instead of doing several things at the same time all through out the day.  This view from our hotel balcony (seen above) is a perfect example.  If I was distracted, outwardly or internally, I would of missed the beauty and wonder of God painting in the sunrise over the ocean this morning.  Without genuine rest, it’s easy to miss the whole point of life unfolding in front of me.
